CCHS Goes Greener Update: Our plan to have rooftop solar installed on the school is moving along. CCHS received a grant from the Appalachian Solar Finance Fund for $37,060, 20% of the project cost, and 52% of the school’s final net investment.
We have also received contributions from generous donors which total to date $64,358, which has enabled us to reach our goal of having the total cost of this rooftop solar installation covered through federal government rebates, the Appalachian Solar Finance Fund grant, and supportive donors.
A contract with Solar Holler for the rooftop solar project has been signed by Bishop Brennan. The project is now in the engineering phase with installation to be scheduled as soon as possible. We will keep you updated.
Additional donations to this project are welcome and will be earmarked for expanding our solar capacity once we have the roof on the oldest part of the school reroofed and ready to receive additional panels.
